A resurgent Rajasthan Royals hammered Sunrisers Hyderabad in match number five of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season on Tuesday. RR piled up a defining score of 210/6 in 20 overs. Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer toyed with the SRH bowlers. In response, SRH were blown away early on as Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna were unplayable. Here's more.

    RR post a commanding 210/6

RR openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 58 runs for the first wicket. RR lost both players with the score reading 75/2. Samson and Devdutt Padikkal added 73 runs for the third wicket. SRH dismissed both the set players before Hetmyer took charge, He hammered 32 from 13 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes. Umran Malik (2/39) was pick of SRH's bowlers.

SRH fall apart to surrender the tie

SRH needed a strong response and that didn't come as RR pace duo of Boult and Krishna ripped apart the top-order. SRH were 9/3 and that's where the game was lost. It was a poor performance from the Orange Army, who finished last in the IPL 2021 season. Besides Aiden Markram, nobody went on to take charge.

    Samson slams 16th IPL fifty

Samson hammered a solid 27-ball 55. He smashed three fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 203.70. He slammed his 16th IPL fifty. He now has 3,123 runs at an average of 29.46. Samson now has 670 runs versus SRH at 44.66. He slammed his second IPL fifty. He has reached 50 fours versus SRH now.

    Chahal registers these feats

Yuzvendra Chahal claimed figures worth 3/22 from his four overs. The wrist-spinner now has 142 wickets at 21.96. Chahal has become the ninth player to take 140 or more wickets in the IPL. Chahal has become just the second bowler to claim 20-plus wickets against SRH (20). He is only behind Dwayne Bravo (21 wickets).

    Unwanted records for SRH

As per Cricketpedia, SRH have registered the joint-lowest score in powerplay overs in IPL history (14/3). Nicholas Pooran's last five scores in the IPL - 0, 3, 12, 2, and 8. The West Indian batter recorded his sixth duck since the start of IPL 2020.
