The IPL 2026 auction pool is divided into 240 Indian players and 110 overseas players. This includes 16 capped Indians and 96 capped overseas players. The list also features a number of new entrants with 224 uncapped Indians and 14 uncapped overseas players. Each team has to fill up to 77 squad spots, including a maximum of 31 for foreign picks, making the auction highly competitive.

The IPL 2026 auction will start at 1:00pm UAE time (2:30pm IST) on December 16. The highest base price for this year's auction is ₹2 crore, with a total of 40 players registering in this category. Among the Indians, Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi are the only ones to have registered at a base price of ₹2 crore. Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan (both at ₹75 lakh) are the only Indians in the opening set.
