The IPL 2019 is into its play-off stage. The Qualifier 1 of this season would see three-time champions Mumbai Indians take on title holders Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday. This is a battle of the top two teams of the league stage. And both the sides are packed with superstars as we present the ideal Dream11.
Starting the proceedings with the wicket-keeping department, it is a tough call between MS Dhoni and Quinton de Kock. However, after careful analysis, we feel the latter is the ideal man to take up the job, considering his form. Moreover, being an opener gives him an edge to earn extra points. Although not as good as Dhoni, he does have sound wicket-keeping skills.
The batting department has to start with Rohit Sharma. He was in fine form in the previous match, as he scored a half-century. He would get the support of Faf du Plessis, who has been lethal of late. The line-up would also consist of Suryakumar Yadav and Shane Watson. Even though Watson has not been in good form, he is a big match player.
Both the teams have several all-rounders in their arsenal, and this department could be a deciding factor in the tie. For us, Hardik Pandya is a no-brainer, courtesy his form with both bat as well the ball. From Chennai, we believe Ravindra Jadeja has an upper hand over Dwayne Bravo. Chennai, being a slower track, will suit Jadeja as he can pick a couple.
The bowling attack too is packed with superstars, as both teams have a dream line-up. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Imran Tahir find their names on the team sheet, considering their unimpaired form with the ball. Meanwhile, Lasith Malinga's resurgence in the last match, claiming three wickets, makes him a favorite. Further, Deepak Chahar's monumental rise this season helps him seal a spot.
Deciding the leaders of a fantasy XI is always tough. With a packed side it really took us a while to reach a conclusion. Considering Pandya's all-round form, he should be appointed as the skipper of this XI. As for his deputy, Tahir gets the nod, considering his chances of success on the slow track of Chennai.
