Mourinho explains why he removed Pogba from vice-captaincy
Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho, has finally spoken up on why he decided to remove Paul Pogba from vice-captaincy of Manchester United. He spoke to journalists before leaving with his team for London to play their EPL match against West Ham. Jose said no player is bigger than the club and it is his responsibility to protect United. Notably, United lost the match 1-3.

Mourinho said that all players should understand that no one is bigger than the club, and it is the prerogative of the manager to decide who will play. "Manchester United is bigger than anyone and I have to defend that", reiterated the Portuguese manager. Mourinho, then, clarified that there was nothing personal, but only tactical reasons behind Pogba being stripped of vice-captaincy.
Mourinho's comments on stripping Pogba of the vice-captaincy
"I always analyze a player as a player. When a player is a captain, I analyze the player by the player and captain perspective, and after weeks of analyzing and changing opinions with my coaching staff, we made the decision Paul is just a player and not a captain", said Mourinho. He also said that he has explained his decision to the players.
Mourinho refused to comment on his training session spat
Recently, Mourinho and Pogba were caught on camera engaging in a war of words during an open training session. When asked about what he said to Pogba, Mourinho refused to make any comments and said that this was a regular affair during training sessions and that is what coaching is about. Mourinho also said he was happy open sessions happen only once a month.
