Three contenders for Arsenal's Player of the Year
Arsenal could not quite rise up to expectations in a season where they are going to end up on sixth spot in the Premier League table. The League Cup and FA Cup hopes too were dashed. But they can win the UEFA Europa League as they battle in the semis. Meanwhile, manager Arsene Wenger is also set to depart in the summer of 2018.
Alexandre Lacazette stood up as the striker
The Frenchman arrived from Lyon with a reputation and did a fine job given the season Arsenal had. In 36 games Alexandre Lacazette has played so far, he managed to score 16 goals. Interestingly, he has been in form of late and has bagged 7 goals in 7 games. He could definitely increase the tally. His link-up with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been solid.
Classy Aaron Ramsey has done well
The midfielder has had his share of injuries this season but when he was fit he made it count. Ramsey has scored 11 goals this season to show that he can be effective with his versatility. He has been in the thick of things providing a balance in the attacking midfield and linking well with forward line. Once again a general in the line-up.
Mesut Ozil the engine once again
The German may not have the desired goals to show for this season, but he still makes the cut for a contention. Ozil has scored five in 34 games across all competitions. He has 9 assists to his name in the Premier League. This season, he became the fastest to reach the 50-assist mark in EPL ever. Ozil has been smart in his approach.
Our verdict on the possible winner
Aaron Ramsey looks the ideal player to win the award. He has been sublime and productive. His hat-trick against Everton in Arsenal's 5-1 victory in February was a superb effort. Ramsey can score beautiful goals and lay the groundwork for the attack.
