    What's the story

The transfer speculations surrounding Real Madrid mid-fielder Toni Kroos have finally come to an end.

The German international has signed a new four-year contract with Real Madrid.

Kroos, who has won a host of trophies with the Madrid-based club, has extended his stay up till 2023. This comes as a big relief for Real fans.

    Here's more on the same.

    Kroos

Kroos was speculated with a move away from Madrid

Reports had suggested that Kroos was set to make a move away from Real in the summer of 2019.

This was in relation to speculations of Paul Pogba's arrival from Manchester United.

Talks of a swap deal also came into light in Spain, but things have changed drastically.

The 29-year-old is considered to be an important asset under manager Zinedine Zidane.

    Real Madrid

Kroos part of Zidane's new vision

Zidane is keen for an overhaul at Madrid and two players are set to arrive, Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard from Eintracht Frankfurt and Chelsea respectively.

The extension of this deal means that Kroos will be a part of a new journey under Zidane.

Real endured a disappointing campaign in 2018-19 and ended the season on the third spot in La Liga.

    Success

Kroos has been successful with Real

Kroos joined Real from German giants Bayern Munich in 2014.

Since then he has managed to win 11 trophies during his five years at the club.

The cabinet includes three Champions League titles and one La Liga crown.

Kroos has played a major role over the years for the club.

He has featured in 233 matches and scored a total of 13 goals.
