Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper-batter for the Indian cricket team, had to retire hurt on Day 1 of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Pant was visibly in pain after being hit on the wrist. He received treatment from the team's physio, who applied an ice pack to his wrist to reduce swelling.
However, despite these efforts, Pant had to leave the field retired hurt.
India were 207/3 when Pant walked out off the field with an injury. Ravindra Jadeja then took his place at bat for India.
