5 times the biggest WWE stars wrestled as tag-team partners
When the two biggest superstars of the business collide inside the ring, fans are eager to find out who is the best. But, sometimes the same icons join forces to take down the common enemy. We have dreamt of them fighting together, and here we bring you five such times when the biggest superstars entered the ring as tag-team partners.
Sting and the Ultimate Warrior once teamed up at WCW
Sting and Ultimate Warrior were tag team partners during their early days and later each went on to become legends of the business. They joined forces again in 1998 when Ultimate Warrior went to the World Championship Wrestling and the two faced the team of Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart. Sting and Ultimate Warrior were winning when the NWO entered and spoiled the party.
It doesn't get cooler: John Cena and The Rock
John Cena and Rock were to face each other in an electrifying match at WrestleMania 29 for the WWE Championship. However, before the match happened, they entered the ring as tag-team partners to face The Miz and R-Truth. Billed as the 'Most Charismatic Tag-team match' of all time, the bout lived up to the hype as Cena and Rock picked up the victory.
When legends unite: Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan
Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan are among the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling. Fans were thrilled when the two united at Backlash 2005 to fight the team of Muhammad Hassan and Daivari. Michaels and Hogan were flawless as a team as they took down their opponents following a Big Boot and a Sweet Chin Music to score the victory.
Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan once joined forces
The two top rivals entering a match as partners and not ultimate rivals was a thing shocking in itself for wrestling fans. But when they did, the crowd went crazy as the two took on Colonel Mustafa, Sgt. Slaughter and General Adnan. Only a Rock-Stone Cold partnership could dare to come close to the stardom Hogan and Warrior brought together.
The Phenom and The Great One: How about that?
The Undertaker and The Rock teaming up is a dream-come-true for fans who started following WWE in the late 90s and early 2000s. The two legends teamed up to face the tag team of Edge and Christian and even defeated them to win the tag-team championship. However, their reign was cut short as they lost the title just three days later.
