"I thought I was not able to do justice after I was picked for the WC with a lot of hype," he said.

"People came up to my house, tracked me down. I had to hide at times. When I was returning from the airport, a couple of people followed me on their bikes," he revealed. Despite these incidents, Chakravarthy said he understands fan emotions and is now happy looking back.

Chakravarthy's return to the ODI team for England series was a surprise. "I even got the tickets for Chennai. But the next morning, I was told that I was in the one-day team too," he stated. He ended the tournament with nine wickets in three matches at an average of 15.11, becoming the second-highest wicket-taker.
