This is what Virat Kohli feels about teenage sensation Shaw

18-year-old Prithvi Shaw was handed his India Test debut in the series against West Indies. The youngster grabbed the opportunity with both hands as he scored a century and a fifty in two Tests. Shaw, who broke a host of records, also hit the winning runs in the second Test in Hyderabad. Skipper Virat Kohli is impressed with Man of the Series, Prithvi Shaw.

Shaw was superb against the Windies

Shaw was handed the chance to show his mettle against West Indies and the teenager notched 237 runs in three innings. He grabbed eyeballs after a maiden century on debut. The aggressive Shaw, then, hit a sublime 70 in the second Test. He is like former Indian opener Virender Sehwag with all the aggression, attacking style of play and a wide range of shots.

Shaw played a big role for the side

Shaw played a big role in helping India seal victory. It wasn't just because of the runs, but the ability to hang in there and build partnerships. Further, his attacking range saw India get off to a flier. His hand and eye co-ordination is superb.

Kohli in awe of the dashing Shaw

In his press-conference, Kohli said, "I don't think any of us were even 10 percent of what he is at 18-19." Kohli also felt India can bank upon him to get the desired starts. "He looks like someone that can get you off to the kind of start that you require, especially to make the first mark in any series that you play."

Shastri likens Shaw to Viru, Sachin and Lara

India coach Ravi Shastri felt that there is a mix of some legendary names in Shaw. "When he bats, there is a bit of Sachin, bit of Viru [Virender Sehwag]. When he walks, there is a bit of [Brian] Lara as well. That's a deadly combination to have. If he keeps his head on his shoulders and work ethic, he has a bright future."
