#IPL2019: Five veterans who might not find place in playing-XI

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 is all set to start from March 23 onwards. Without a shadow of a doubt, youngsters enjoy an unfair advantage in this super competitive tournament. In this light, the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league would witness certain superstars not getting enough match-time. They might not even feature once in playing XI. Here are five such veteran players.

    The Afghani all-rounder: Mohammad Nabi

33-year-old Mohammad Nabi is normally a crucial all-rounder for any side. But despite the Afghanistan player's talent, he could miss out most of the matches of IPL. SRH have a settled side and there are lots of quality players in their ranks. Notably, Nabi has played just five matches in two seasons. Given four foreigners are allowed, he may not make into playing XI.

The most successful IPL bowler: Lasith Malinga

Sri Lankan ace Lasith Malinga was ignored in 2018 auction. Rather, he was seen as bowling mentor of Mumbai Indians. Interestingly, he was acquired once again by Mumbai this term. Mumbai already have eight other pace bowling options including some notable T20 international stars. Therefore, Malinga could find it difficult to get matches, as the successful bowler has lost the pace he once had.

    The IPL veteran: Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh has achieved it all in the IPL. Notably, he has won the title a record four times. The 38-year-old could just be used as a cover by Chennai Super Kings this season. CSK have a spin-heavy squad with numerous options. Moreover, the presence of Kedar Jadhav and Mitchell Santner could limit Bhajji's playing time. He played 13 matches for CSK last season.

    The forgotten star: Stuart Binny

34-year-old Stuart Binny could be ignored by Rajasthan Royals. He was dismal in IPL 2018, where he managed just 44 runs in seven matches. Moreover, Binny wasn't given much opportunity to bowl either. He got just 12 deliveries in which he conceded 33 runs. Binny's slow reflexes on the field and inability to win matches for his side, could see him warm the bench.

    The T20 powerhouse: Yuvraj Singh

Mumbai Indians gave Yuvraj Singh a lifeline after he was ignored in the first round of 2019 Auction. The southpaw struggled with the bat last season and featured in eight matches for Kings XI Punjab, in which he amassed 65. Yuvi is raring to have a crack this season, but MI have a big squad. The 37-year-old could find it difficult to feature consistently.
