Gambhir was a true champion batsman and holds the record for 5 or more consecutive Test tons alongside Sir Don, Jacques Kallis and Mohammad Yousuf. The southpaw also amassed 11 consecutive fifties and is the only player to achieve this feat after Vivian Richards. Gambhir won the World Twenty20 trophy with India in 2007 besides the World Cup in 2011.

Gambhir was instrumental for India and grew alongside Virender Sehwag to be become one of the best ever opening pairs in world cricket. Gambhir was a true ODI player and notched 5,238 runs in 147 matches.
