India vs New Zealand: Preview, pitch report and TV listing

India are all set to take on New Zealand in 18th match of the ICC World Cup 2019 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Thursday. Both the teams have remained unbeaten so far, and it would be interesting to see who suffers the opening loss of the tournament. Meanwhile, we present the match preview and other details ahead of this thrilling tie.

India defeated Australia, New Zealand overcame Afghanistan

In the respective previous matches, India and New Zealand registered wins over Australia and Afghanistan. India put up an all-round show to defeat Australia by 36 runs, as they grabbed two crucial points. As for New Zealand, they overcame Afghanistan by seven wickets. For now, with three wins, Kiwis are at the top of the table, while India are third.

Virat Kohli vs Kane Williamson: The game of skippers

In the team news, the tie would be headlined by the skippers, as both Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson have been in fine form with the bat. Among others, India's pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah would also be in the spotlight, owing to their lethal form. For New Zealand, Lockie Ferguson and James Neesham are to be watched out for.

Men In Blue have a slender edge over Kiwis

As of now, both the teams have clashed seven times in the World Cup, with India winning thrice, while New Zealand have won four. In England, both have clashed in three ODIs, with New Zealand winning all. Considering their head-to-head clashes in ODIs, both the teams have come across 106 times, with India winning 55 times, while New Zealand have scripted 45 victories.

Rain can disrupt play tomorrow in Trent Bridge

Trent Bridge has hosted three matches of the tournament so far. While the opening match here was a low-scoring encounter, in the following two matches, track assisted batsmen. However, with a 50% chance of rain, we might not witness a 50-over match. Further, overcast conditions can help swing bowlers. India enter as favorites but Kiwis can't be ruled out.

Here are the predicted XI for both the sides

India: KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli (captain), Vijay Shankar, MS Dhoni (wicket-keeper), Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah. New Zealand: Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Kane Williamson (captain), Ross Taylor, Tom Latham (wicket-keeper), James Neesham, Colin de Grandhomme, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult.
