Joe Root's second term as England's Test captain got off to a flying start, with his team registering an emphatic innings victory over Pakistan. The win not only earned England crucial ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points but also improved their overall point percentage. Pakistan, on the other hand, have slipped to the bottom of the WTC standings behind West Indies, with a point percentage of just 19.05.
