Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a new trilateral partnership in technology and innovation with Australia and Canada. The announcement was made during a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. The initiative is called the Australia-Canada-India Technology and Innovation (ACITI) Partnership.

The ACITI Partnership is aimed at strengthening collaboration among democratic partners across three continents and three oceans in emerging technologies. It also seeks to support supply chain diversification, clean energy initiatives, and the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). PM Modi expressed his optimism about the partnership, saying, "We look forward to working together to guarantee a better future for the coming generations."

Modi's other engagements at G20 Summit
Apart from the meeting with Albanese and Carney, PM Modi also met British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. He called his meeting with Starmer "wonderful" and said it brought new energy to the India-UK partnership. The prime minister also had a "very productive" conversation with UN chief Guterres during the summit.

Modi's proposals for global development at G20
During the opening session of the G20 Leaders' meeting, PM Modi called for a rethink of global development parameters. He proposed setting up a G20 initiative to counter the drug-terror nexus and a global healthcare response team. The prime minister also suggested creating a Global Traditional Knowledge Repository under G20 to preserve eco-balanced, culturally rich ways of living.
