1982 Lotus Esprit Turbo from James Bond's 'The Spy Who Loved Me' heads to auction

A classic 1982 Lotus Esprit Turbo, a model featured in For Your Eyes Only, is finally leaving its barn after 30 years and heading to auction at Haynes Motor Museum.
It's expected to fetch around £10,000 (about ₹10 lakh)—not bad for a car with a connection to movie history and a layer of barn-grown moss.

Why collectors are excited

This red Lotus, bought in 1990 and parked since 1995 when the owner switched focus to dog training, has developed what Charterhouse director Richard Bromell described as a patina from the green moss, lichen, and slime courtesy of nature.
With similar models in top shape selling for over £30,000, this is a rare chance for fans or collectors to restore a model of the iconic Bond ride.
