Hyundai releases images of the 2020 Verna, launch imminent

Hyundai is gearing up to launch the 2020 edition of its popular sedan, the Verna, in India soon. In the latest update, the South Korean automaker has released the teaser images of the upcoming car, revealing its design highlights. The car will come with a host of feature updates and will be available with petrol as well as diesel engine options. Here's more.

The 2020 Hyundai Verna has a sporty look, featuring a coupe-inspired sloping roof design, a new chrome-finished hexagonal grille, and a revamped headlamp cluster as well as DRL design. The car gets an attractive side profile with chrome highlights around the windows and indicator-mounted ORVMs. On the rear, it features a new bumper, a roof-mounted shark-fin antenna, and redesigned tail lamps.

Inside the cabin

At present, not much is known about the interiors of the 2020 Hyundai Verna. However, quite like the outgoing model, we expect the car to offer a five-seater cabin with leather upholstery and an electric sunroof. The car could also feature a fully-digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment panel with connectivity features as well as BlueLink connected car technology.

Under the hood, the 2020 Hyundai Verna will be offered with three BS6-compliant engine options: a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol and 1.5-liter petrol as well as diesel. The details about the power figures are yet to be revealed. To manage transmission duties, the car will be offered with both 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox.

Hyundai will reveal the official pricing and availability details of the 2020 Verna at its launch event which is likely to happen in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, according to reports, it will carry a slight premium over the outgoing model that starts at Rs. 8.18 lakh. Once launched, the sedan will go up against Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
