What's the story

As the latest addition to its portfolio of superbikes, Kawasaki has launched the 2020 Versys 1000 in India at Rs. 10.89 lakh. The latest model gets a new 'Candy Lime Green' color scheme with 'Metallic Spark Black' being the base color. However, mechanically, it remains the same as the outgoing model. The bookings for new model are live via company's dealerships across the country.

2020 Kawasaki Versys 1000: At a glance

The latest Versys 1000 sits on a twin-tube aluminium frame and features a sports design with a dual-tone beefy looking front apron, a muscular fuel tank, and a tall windshield. The motorcycle comes with stepped-up seat and gets a blacked-out treatment on the alloy wheels, mirrors, and grab rail. Also, it gets a semi-digital instrument cluster and an all-LED setup for lighting.

Power and performance

The 2020 Kawasaki Versys 1000 is powered by a 1,043cc liquid-cooled, DOHC engine, which is capable of producing 120PS of power at 9,000rpm and 102Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. The transmission duties on the motorcycle are handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox and slipper clutch. Moreover, it promises an overall mileage of 13kmpl.

Safety

What about safety and suspension setup?

The 2020 Versys 1000 comes equipped with 310mm disc brake on the front and 250mm disc brake on the rear. The motorcycle also gets features like cornering ABS, two power modes, cruise control, five-axis Bosch IMU, and Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC). To handle suspension duties, it houses 43mm inverted telescopic forks on the front and a monoshock suspension on the rear.
