2023 KTM 890 Adventure debuts with nifty improvements: Check features
Austrian marque KTM has taken the wraps off the 2023 iteration of the 890 Adventure for the global markets. The motorcycle follows the same design philosophy as seen on the 450 Dakar Rally motorcycle by the brand. For the MY-2023 update, the ADV gets reworked adjustable suspension, improved seat comfort, and overall better wind protection. It draws power from an 889cc, parallel-twin engine.
Why does this story matter?
- With multiple victories in off-road racing events such as the Dakar rally, Motocross World Championship, and the FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship, KTM is touted as one of the most popular bikemakers across the globe.
- The 890 Adventure range draws inspiration from the capable off-road focused racing motorcycles from the brand's line-up and tones them down for novice as well as non-experienced riders.
The ADV flaunts an upright windscreen and wire-spoked wheels
The 2023 KTM 890 Adventure retains the overall silhouette of the outgoing model and flaunts an upright windscreen, an LED headlamp with integrated DRLs, fairing-mounted auxiliary lights, a sloping fuel tank, split-type seats, a bash plate, a side-slung exhaust, and a sleek LED taillamp. The ADV packs a full-color 5.0-inch TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. It rides on heady-duty wire-spoked wheels.
It is backed by an 889cc, parallel-twin engine
The 2023 KTM 890 Adventure draws power from an 889cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that churns out a maximum power of 103hp and a peak torque of 100Nm. The motor is linked to a 6-speed gearbox, along with a PASC anti-hopping clutch.
The motorcycle is equipped with disc brakes and cornering ABS
In terms of rider safety, the KTM 890 Adventure is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with new-generation cornering ABS, traction control with 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), and off-road riding modes. Suspension duties on the ADV are handled by 48mm "WP XPLOR" inverted forks on the front and a "WP XPLOR PDS" mono-shock unit on the rear.
