What's the story

Kia Motors has officially unveiled the second-generation Seltos in India. The highly-anticipated model will be available for booking starting tomorrow, with a token amount of ₹25,000. Deliveries are expected to begin by mid-January. The new Seltos will be offered with petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel engine options. It showcases Kia's new global design language seen on the EV2 Concept and second-generation Telluride models launched earlier this year.

Exterior

Design of the new Seltos

The new Seltos sports a split headlamp layout with vertical daytime running light guides. The main headlamps are neatly integrated into the grille, which is more prominent than its predecessor. The SUV's profile is muscular with squared-out fenders and flush-sitting door handles for a streamlined look. At the rear, slim L-shaped LED taillamps and a roof-mounted integrated spoiler add to its modern appeal.

Size upgrade

Enhanced dimensions and interior design

The new Seltos is bigger than its predecessor, with a wheelbase of 2,690mm, 80mm longer than before. The overall length has also increased by nearly 95mm to 4,460mm. Inside, the dashboard design borrows elements from the smaller Kia Syros ,with layered designs and minimal physical buttons on the center stack. Top trims come with a panoramic curved display atop the dashboard housing twin 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrument cluster.

Tech features

Advanced technology and powertrain options

The new Seltos gets a host of advanced features like a larger 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen, head-up display, ambient lighting and relaxation position for the driver seat. The base variant has a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, cruise control, keyless entry and LED lighting. As for powertrains, Kia has retained the familiar 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel engines for the Indian market.
