MG Hector facelift debuts at ₹12L: Check what's new
What's the story
MG Motor has launched the latest iteration of its popular mid-size SUV, the Hector facelift, in India. The starting price for this revamped model is ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it should be noted that this is an introductory price and will only be applicable to a limited number of units. The new Hector facelift comes with a host of cosmetic and feature updates to keep it competitive in the ever-evolving Indian automotive market.
Design overhaul
A look at the design changes
The 2026 MG Hector facelift, which is the SUV's third such update, brings minor changes to its exterior. The most prominent change is a new Aura Hex front grille that retains the shape of its predecessor but adopts a vertical hexagonal pattern instead of the diamond mesh design. The front bumper has also been redesigned with updated chrome detailing around the air dam.

New features and color options
The Hector facelift retains the same cabin layout as its predecessor, but with some updates. It continues to offer a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch vertically-oriented touchscreen infotainment system. The upholstery and color themes have been updated, along with improvements to the infotainment software. The SUV also gets new dual-tone Ice Grey interiors for the five-seater variant and Urban Tan for the Hector Plus model.

Engine specifications and safety features
The Hector facelift continues with the same engine options as before. It is powered by a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine that makes 143hp and 250Nm of torque, and a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel unit that produces 170hp and 350Nm of torque. The petrol motor can be had with either a six-speed manual or CVT gearbox while the diesel unit comes only with a six-speed manual transmission.

Advanced driver assistance systems
The 2026 MG Hector facelift comes with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Bend Cruise Assistance, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Front Collision Warning, and Safe Distance Warning. It also gets Automatic Emergency Braking and Intelligent Headlamp Control for added safety on the road.
