Power figures of BS6-ready 220cc Bajaj Avenger, Cruise revealed
A few days back, we reported that Bajaj Auto has updated its entire line-up to meet the upcoming emission norms, but they didn't mention the power figures of the new BS6-complaint variants. Now, BikeDekho has revealed the power figures of the new Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 models, confirming that the new cruisers make the same power as their BS4 counterparts. Here's more.
Both Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 feature a similar long-handle look with retro-styling elements including rounded headlamp as well as indicators, and a comfortable riding position. The former comes with a matte-black finish, while the latter gets a heavy chrome treatment and a tall transparent windscreen. Besides that, both models house a halogen headlamp and a digital instrument console.
Both Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 are powered by a BS6-compliant 220cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The motor is capable of producing 19.03PS of maximum power at 8,400rpm- same as the BS4 model. Meanwhile, the details about the peak torque are yet to be revealed.
On the safety front, the Bajaj Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 come equipped with disc brake on the front, drum brake on the rear, and single-channel ABS for improved braking efficiency. To manage suspension duties, the cruisers house conventional telescopic forks up front and a dual-shock unit on the rear.
The BS6-compliant Bajaj Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 reportedly carry a premium of approximately Rs. 11,500 over their respective BS4 counterparts. The updated models are priced at Rs. 1.15 lakh, and the bookings for them are underway via Bajaj dealerships across the country.
