    What's the story

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. is working on launching the BS6-ready petrol version of its compact SUV, the KUV100 NXT, in the coming weeks.

Now, an Autocar report has revealed the prices of the updated model, claiming that the crossover will start at Rs. 5.50 lakh.

Apart from the engine upgrade, the car retains the design and features of its BS4 counterpart.

    Here's our roundup.

    Exteriors

A look at the Mahindra KUV100 NXT

The Mahindra KUV100 NXT retains the styling cues of the outgoing model. It comes with a sporty look featuring a sleek grille, trapezoidal air inlet as well as fog lamp housings, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, and silver-colored skid plates on both ends.

The car gets an attractive side profile with blacked-out wheel arches, ORVMs, and radial alloy wheels wrapped in tubeless tires.

    Interiors

    Inside the cabin

Inside, the new KUV100 NXT comes with a spacious cabin that can accommodate up to six people. The car comes with a height-adjustable driver seat, fabric upholstery, automatic climate control, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel.

The car houses a digital driver display, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for connectivity features, and also retains the safety features of the outgoing model.

    Information

    Power and performance

The updated Mahindra KUV100 NXT will be powered by a BS6-compliant 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine that comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The motor is capable of producing 83hp of maximum power and 115Nm of peak torque- same as the BS4 model.

    Pricing

And, here's a look at the variant-wise pricing

According to Autocar, the BS6-compliant Mahindra KUV100 NXT will start at Rs. 5.50 lakh for the entry-level K2+ trim, while the mid-level K4+ model will cost Rs. 5.96 lakh and the top-tier K8 trim will be priced at Rs. 7.12 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

Once launched, the car will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Tata Nexon, and 2020 Honda WR-V.
