To meet the upcoming emission norms, Maruti Suzuki has launched the BS6-compliant version of the CelerioX hatchback in India.
The family car carries a premium of Rs. 15,000 over its BS4 counterpart and starts at Rs. 4.90 lakh.
It is offered in four variants: VXI, VXI (O), ZXI and ZXI (O), and is available with both manual as well as automatic transmission options.
The Maruti Suzuki CelerioX is the rugged version of the standard Celerio model. It comes with a distinctive front profile with wider headlamp units, a muscular bonnet, and blacked-out grille.
The hatchback also gets an impressive side profile with a blacked-out treatment on the side claddings, ORVMs, door handles, and B-pillars.
Further, it has a wheelbase of 2,425mm and a ground clearance of 165mm.
Inside, the new Maruti Suzuki CelerioX gets a minimalistic cabin that can accommodate five people. The car gets a height-adjustable driver seat, power windows, and a multifunctional steering wheel.
The hatchback houses a semi-digital instrument cluster and an integrated audio system with USB, Aux, and Bluetooth connectivity.
In terms of safety, the CelerioX gets driver airbag, ABS, reverse parking camera, and speed alert system.
The new Maruti Suzuki CelerioX draws power from the same 1.0-liter petrol engine as the outgoing model, albeit in BS6 avatar.
This motor comes mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT system. It churns out 68PS of maximum power and 90Nm of peak torque.
Furthermore, the hatchback promises a mileage of 21.63kmpl.
As for the pocket-pinch, the BS6 Maruti Suzuki CelerioX starts at Rs. 4.90 lakh for the VXI model with the manual gearbox and goes up to Rs. 5.67 lakh for the top-tier ZXI (O) model with automatic transmission.
