Hero Electric Optima CX launched in India at Rs. 62,200
Homegrown automaker Hero Electric has launched its Optima CX scooter in India. Its price starts at Rs. 62,190. As for the highlights, the vehicle has a sporty design and offers a bevy of features, including cruise control and regenerative braking. It draws power from an electric powertrain and promises a range of up to 140km on a single charge.

- The vehicle has been priced competitively and takes on rivals such as Bounce Infinity E1 and Ampere Magnus. With this, the competition in the EV two-wheeler space will be raised.
The Hero Electric Optima CX has an indicator-mounted front apron with an 'ELECTRIC' logo on it, a flat footboard, a stepped-up single-piece seat with a pillion grab rail, and a USB charging port. The scooter packs an LED headlight, a negative backlit digital instrument console, and rides on 12-inch alloy wheels. It also offers an anti-theft alarm and a remote locking facility.
The Optima CX packs a 1.2kW electric motor linked to one or two 51.2V/30Ah Lithium-iron-phosphate batteries. The single-battery variant delivers a range of 82km per charge, while the dual-battery version promises a range of 140km. It also hits a top-speed of 45km/h.
To ensure the safety of the rider, the Hero Electric Optima CX is equipped with drum brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with cruise control and reverse assist for better handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the two-wheeler are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front side and a shock absorber on the rear end.
In India, the single-battery version of the Hero Electric Optima CX carries a price-tag of Rs. 62,190, while the twin-battery variant sports a price-figure of Rs. 77,490 (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
