Hyundai has officially launched the refreshed version of its popular sedan, the VERNA. The new model comes with a starting price tag of ₹10.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted VERNA not only gets a fresh look but also packs in new features to enhance its appeal in the midsize segment. Let's take a closer look at what this updated model has to offer.

Design changes

First, let's look at the design of the updated sedan

The facelifted VERNA gets a host of styling updates, including a black chrome radiator grille, dual LED projector headlamps, and revamped front and rear bumpers. The car also rides on new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Inside, it features a D-cut steering wheel and leatherette seat upholstery for added comfort.

Interior upgrades

It also offers an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat

The updated VERNA offers a number of comfort and convenience features, including eight-way electric adjustment with memory function for the driver's seat. The passenger seat gets four-way electric adjustment along with a walk-in device. Other features include a rear window sunshade, smart trunk system, and dual 10.25-inch displays for infotainment system and digital instrument cluster.

The facelifted VERNA comes with wireless smartphone connectivity, a wireless charging pad, ventilated front seats, and an electric sunroof. Hyundai's connected car platform offers over 70 connected features with extensive voice command functionality. Other highlights include a surround view monitor, blind spot view monitor, an eight-speaker Bose premium sound system and a switchable interface that integrates infotainment and climate control functions.

It is backed by 2 petrol engine options

The facelifted VERNA continues to offer two petrol engine options. The 1.5-liter MPi petrol engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or an IVT automatic, while the more powerful 1.5-liter turbo GDi petrol engine delivers 160hp and 253Nm of torque. It can be mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

Safety upgrades

The sedan comes with Level 2 ADAS functions

The updated VERNA comes with Level 2 ADAS with 20 driver assistance features. It also gets seven airbags including a center airbag, a built-in dashcam, and rain-sensing wipers. The sedna includes six airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard safety equipment.
