    What's the story

Prior to its global debut in the coming weeks, Kia Motors has released images of its EV6 electric crossover.

The vehicle debuts the company's new 'Opposites United' design language and is based on Hyundai's E-GMP platform.

It has an eye-catching look featuring a 'Digital Tiger Face' and an upmarket cabin with many features. However, details regarding the powertrain are yet to be revealed.

    New direction

What is the 'Opposites United' design language?

The Kia EV6's styling is based on the 'Opposites United' design language, which is inspired by "the contrasts found in nature and humanity" and shall be used to style all upcoming Kia cars.

The design philosophy is based on five key design elements: 'Bold for Nature,' 'Power to Progress,' 'Joy for Reason,' 'Tension for Serenity,' and 'Technology for Life.'

    Exteriors

The car sports a 'Digital Tiger Face'

Kia EV6 features a clamshell bonnet with the brand's new logo, sleek grille, a wide air dam, and large angular headlamps with LED DRLs forming the vehicle's 'Digital Tiger Face.'

On the sides, it has blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, thick cladding, distinct character lines, and designer wheels.

Two spoilers and a sleek taillight spanning the width of the car are available on the rear.

    Information

It is based on the E-GMP platform

Details pertaining to the powertrain of the Kia EV6 electric crossover are yet to be revealed. However, we know that it is based on Hyundai's Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) that also underpins the IONIQ 5.

    Interiors

The vehicle has a tech-savvy cabin

The Kia EV6 has slim, lightweight seats covered in fabrics made from recycled plastic, a center console with an armrest, a start/stop button, two cup holders, and a 2-spoke multifunctional steering wheel.

It also features a sleek dashboard that houses two large, co-joined screens for the digital instrument cluster as well as the infotainment system.

    Information

    Kia EV6: Pricing and availability

The pricing and availability details of the Kia EV6 will be announced in the coming weeks. However, it is likely to start at around £45,000 (approximately Rs. 46 lakh) - much like the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
