Kia is a South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer with its headquarters located in Seoul. It comes under the parent company Hyundai Motor Company. The name “Kia” is said to be derived from Sino-Korean characters which roughly translates as “Rising from Asia.” It was founded in 1944 as a bicycle manufacturer and later entered into building Honda-licensed motorcycles in 1957 and eventually cars in 1974. Kia’s current Indian portfolio includes the Sonet, the Seltos, and the Carnival ranges.
