Maserati to hybridize Nettuno V6, Grecale 1st and GranTurismo next
Maserati is giving its iconic Nettuno V6 engine a hybrid makeover, with the Grecale SUV expected to come first, followed by the GranTurismo and other models.
The Nettuno, which launched in 2020 and is Maserati's first homegrown engine in over 20 years, was spotlighted at the 2027 lineup reveal on June 18.
COO Santo Ficili even said, "I am personally in love with this engine."
Nettuno to use 48-volt or high-voltage
Instead of plug-in hybrids, Maserati will use either 48-volt mild-hybrid or high-voltage systems for the Nettuno V6.
Chief Marketing Officer Cristiano Fiorio said this move boosts performance while adding value for drivers.
If you're into fully electric rides, Maserati's Folgore models have you covered. The Grecale SUV is expected to be among the first models to receive it, with other models to follow.
