Mazda's new 6e/EZ-6 just grabbed the World Car Design of the Year title at the New York International Auto Show, standing out among 90 eligible vehicles for its fresh, innovative look.
This is Mazda's third design win and fifth overall World Car Award—a nice boost for their trophy shelf.
Panel of 98 journalists selects Mazda
A global panel of 98 auto journalists picked the winner, with KPMG independently tabulating the results.
Before that, a group of design pros narrowed down the finalists to just three: Mazda's 6e/EZ-6, Kia's PV5, and Volvo's ES90.
Chief Designer Yoshito Iwauchi shared that this win is proof their KODO philosophy, focusing on sculptural beauty and craftsmanship, is really paying off.
