What's the story

Citroen has unveiled its latest generation C3, a model specifically designed for the European market. It will complement its electric counterpart, the eC3, introduced last year. The design of the new-gen Citroen C3 closely mirrors that of its electric version with only minor alterations. Both standard and mild-hybrid engine variants are available in this latest offering from Citroen.

Model specifications

Citroen C3's design and construction details

The European version of the Citroen C3 is built on the Smart Car architecture, differentiating it from the Indian model which uses the C-Cubed platform. The fourth-generation Citroen C3 features a robust look with angular A-pillars, roof rails, and a flat trunk. It also includes signature LED DRLs that give a unique appearance to this SUV. The new model has removed the 'e' emblem from its profile and tailgate for visual distinction from its electric sibling.

Interior features and trim levels of new C3

Citroen has limited the new C3 model to just two trim levels, with the interior layout reflecting that of the eC3. The top-tier Max trim is furnished with a 10.25-inch infotainment display, while the entry-level "You" trim includes a smartphone holder. Additional features such as a head-up display, automatic climate control, wireless charging, smartphone mirroring, and ADAS are standard inclusions in the top variant.

Performance details

Engine specifications and efficiency of new C3

The new Citroen C3 is powered by a 1.2-liter turbo three-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 100hp, paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox. A mild-hybrid variant is also available, combining a 48-volt motor with the engine for improved efficiency. This version comes with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Citroen claims that the mild-hybrid model can reduce fuel consumption by nearly 10% compared to the petrol-only version.
