Porsche is sticking with its plan to launch electric versions of the Boxster and Cayman, even though things are running behind schedule.
These electric vehicles, or EVs, were set to replace the old gas-powered 718s, and while they're not out yet, Porsche Australia CEO Daniel Schmollinger says he's driven the prototypes and loves how they handle.
Porsche might bring back ICE versions of the 718
While Porsche remains committed to launching electric 718s, it's also thinking about bringing back some high-performance gas-powered ICE 718s, possibly using an electrified flat-six engine from the 911 GTS, until its new EV platform is ready for more options.
