Swiss privacy company Proton launches Proton Meet video app
Proton, the Swiss company known for its focus on privacy, just launched Proton Meet, a new video conferencing tool that works on web, iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, and Linux.
With a free account, you can host calls for up to 50 people for up to 1 hour.
Without an account, you can host or join calls with up to four people, no signup required.
Proton Meet offers end-to-end encryption
Unlike Zoom or Microsoft Teams, Proton Meet lets some people join without an account and keeps everything encrypted end-to-end (including screen sharing and chat), so your conversations stay private.
It also syncs with Google and Microsoft calendars for easy scheduling.
As part of the Proton suite (think secure email, storage, and VPN), it's designed for anyone who wants big tech features but tighter privacy, plus it's based in Switzerland for extra legal protection.
