Tata launches Sierra SUV at ₹11.5L to challenge Creta's dominance
What's the story
Tata Motors has launched the much-anticipated new-generation Tata Sierra in India. The SUV is available at an introductory price of ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes in seven trims—Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished, and Accomplished+. Interested buyers can pick from six exterior and three interior color options. The company will start accepting bookings from December 16 this year, with deliveries commencing from January 15 next year.

Tata Sierra: A blend of modernity and tradition
The new Sierra is a modern take on the original model, which was India's first lifestyle SUV. It retains the boxy silhouette and Alpine glass roof of its predecessor but gets a more aggressive look with 19-inch alloy wheels, full-LED lighting, a rear spoiler, and an updated version of the iconic Tata grille.

Tata Sierra's interior and safety features
The cabin of the new Tata Sierra is a mix of modernity and tech. It has a triple-screen layout in higher variants (lower variants have a dual-screen dashboard), a 12-speaker JBL sound system with a sound bar, head-up display (HUD), dual-zone climate control, connected car technology, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and a 360-degree camera. All variants come with six airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounting points for added safety.

Tata Sierra's powertrain options and performance
The new Tata Sierra comes with three powertrain options: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 105hp/145Nm; a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 158hp/255Nm; and a 1.5-liter diesel engine that churns out 116hp/260Nm. The SUV also features all-wheel drive (AWD) technology for the first time in Tata's new generation of vehicles.
