What's the story

Toyota has unveiled a new concept car, the Camry GT-S, at the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The vehicle is based on the 2025 Camry XSE AWD Hybrid and showcases a unique blend of performance-oriented styling and practical upgrades. The team behind this innovative design was led by Toyota's CALTY Design Research in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Design philosophy

Staying true to reality

The Camry GT-S is a design study that explores the potential of a sport sedan. It aims to deliver an experience that feels like it could drive straight from a dealership floor into a customer's garage. Unlike other SEMA builds, the GT-S stays true to reality with its unchanged 232hp, stock 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system. The interior also remains faithful to the production Camry, emphasizing exterior design and chassis tuning as extensions of Camry's existing capabilities.

Future vision

More than just a SEMA 1-off

Adam Rabinowitz, Chief Designer at Toyota CALTY Design Research, said the Camry GT-S Concept is more than just a SEMA one-off. It's a study of what a performance and style package could mean for the future of Camry. The team also focused on upgrades to complement the pronounced GT-S bodylines, including adjustable coilovers that lower the chassis by 1.5-inch for an aggressive stance and improved handling.

Performance upgrades

Impressive brake and wheel upgrades

The Camry GT-S Concept also features a high-performance brake upgrade with massive 8-piston calipers squeezing 365mm front rotors and 6-piston calipers matched with the 356mm rear rotors. To enhance mechanical grip, the vehicle comes with 20-inch performance wheels mounted with 245/35R20 tires. These upgrades are all part of Toyota's vision for the next evolution of Camry XSE through aggressive enhancements that reinforce its unique position in the sport sedan market.
