To achieve this ambitious goal, Yamaha plans to make its Chennai factory the main export hub for global markets, especially advanced countries like the US and Europe.

Chennai factory to lead global export strategy
Yamaha Motor Co Ltd Senior Executive Officer and Group Chairman, Itaru Otani, revealed the company's export strategy. He said the Chennai factory will be at the forefront of their global market expansion. The company has already started exporting to Europe last year, with Otani calling it a success. This move is part of Yamaha's continued investment in its Chennai plant to meet international standards.

Models exported from Chennai
Yamaha exports a wide variety of models from its Chennai factory in Tamil Nadu. The list includes popular bikes such as FZ V2, FZ V3, FZ V4, Crux, Saluto, Aerox 155, Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid, and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid. Apart from the Chennai facility, the company also exports from its other manufacturing unit located at Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Currently, Yamaha exports to around 55 countries from India. The company is also looking at new international markets as part of its growth strategy. Otani said they are considering advanced countries for their products and will definitely look into those markets where there is demand and potential for their offerings.
