Microsoft, Google, and Facebook are some of the world's biggest tech companies, and several aspire to join them.
This dream has come true for a 22-year-old student of the International Institute of Technology (IIIT), Bengaluru.
KB Shyam has bagged a job at Google with an annual package of Rs. 60 lakh, and will be joining the Internet giant in October.

Shyam, a native of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, has completed his five-year dual degree program (iMtech) from IIIT-B.
As per reports, he had applied for the job in January, and had to go through an online interview and then an on-site interview at Munich, Germany.
He also went through a team-matching process, all of which were held in a span of five months.

Shyam says his work area will be Google cloud platform, and will be joining the team in Warsaw, Poland.
He said that his participation in various programming competitions helped him prepare for the selection rounds of Google.
Like, he had participated in ACM-ICPC, known to be the Olympics of programming competitions, along with his team and reached the finals of the same, twice.

Shyam had also interned with Facebook last year in London

Notably, almost 128 teams take part in the competition each year from across the globe.
Shyam had also interned with Facebook in London between May and August last year, at the end of his college fourth year.
"Having good knowledge of computer science fundamentals and improving problem-solving skills will improve the chances of students who want to get into Google," he pointed out.

Family
Shyam's father and mother are both government employees in Chennai

Shyam had also scored big in his Class XII, attaining a solid 95.2% marks.
As per reports, his father, KN Babu is an employee of the Central government and his mother, RS Jayashree is employed with the Tamil Nadu government posted in Chennai.
Moreover, his brother, KB Siddharth, is currently pursuing his post-doctoral research in fuel cells in the US.

Meanwhile, Shyam is not the first IIIT-Bengaluru student to achieve this feat.
Earlier in 2018, Google had offered a job to Aditya Paliwal, also a 22-year-old, at an annual package of Rs. 1.2 crore.
Aditya was a student of the integrated MTech degree, same as Shyam, and was offered a work profile at Google's New York office in the Artificial Intelligence research wing.
