Yamaha to launch MT-15 street-bike on March 15: Details here
Yamaha Motor is all set to launch its new street bike MT-15 in India on March 15. Yamaha MT-15, available in the 155cc engine category, comes as a naked version of Yamaha YZF R15. The motorcycle comes with a sharp look, dual tone paint job and is expected to be launched at a starting price of Rs. 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Here's our roundup.
The Yamaha MT-15 comes with sharp features, minimalistic design, and attractive paint job. It offers a digital instrument console, LED headlamps, LED taillights, and LED signal turn lamps. The bike weighs 288 kg (Gross Vehicle Weight) and will be available in four different color schemes- blue, black, blue-black, and grey-black.
The MT-15 comes with a 155cc liquid-cooled, four-valve, single-cylinder engine which is tuned to produce a maximum power of 19.3ps and a peak torque of 15Nm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed slip assist transmission.
The Yamaha MT-15 comes with delta box chassis, front telescopic fork suspension and swingarm suspension on the rear side. For breaking performance, it has disc brakes on both wheels with an option of dual channel ABS. It also features footrest along with a backrest for the passenger seat. With a wheelbase of 1,335mm, the bike runs on 17-inch tubeless alloy wheels.
Customers can now place their order for the 2019 MT-15. Even though the official bookings are yet to be announced, few Yamaha dealerships in India have started accepting pre-orders for the bike. According to CarAndBike, dealers in Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi are accepting bookings against a token amount of Rs. 5,000. The deliveries for the bike are expected to begin around early April.
