What's the story

Yamaha Motor has launched its all new MT-15 in India today. The new model, available in the 155cc engine category, comes as a naked version of Yamaha YZF R15. The India-centric motorcycle comes with a bunch of equipment and feature changes including a sharp look and dual-tone paint job. And, it is available at a price of Rs. 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Design

Yamaha MT-15 available in two color options

The Yamaha MT-15 comes with sharp features, minimalistic design, and attractive paint job. It offers a digital instrument console, LED headlamps, LED taillights, and LED signal turn lamps. The bike weighs 288 kg (Gross Vehicle Weight) and is available in two color options- dark matte blue and metallic black.

Internals

Yamaha MT-15 offers a maximum power of 19.3ps

The 2019 Yamaha MT-15 comes with a 155cc liquid-cooled, four-valve, single-cylinder engine which is tuned to produce a maximum power of 19.3ps and a peak torque of 15Nm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed slip assist transmission, slipper clutch, and Variable Valve Actuation System. Also, Yamaha has updated the ECU setting and final gear ratio to extract better low and mid-range power.

Safety & Control

Yamaha MT-15 comes with an optional dual channel ABS

The Yamaha MT-15 comes with delta box chassis, front telescopic fork suspension and swingarm suspension on the rear side. For breaking performance, it has disc brakes on both wheels with an option of dual channel ABS. It also features footrest along with a backrest for the passenger seat. With a wheelbase of 1,335mm, the bike runs on 17-inch tubeless alloy wheels.

2019 Yamaha MT-15: On-road price might cross Rs. 1.50 lakh

2019 MT-15 has been launched as a part of Yamaha's ongoing Call Of The Blue campaign. Under the campaign, the automaker will offer three motorcycle series, mainly the R Series, the FZ Series, and the MT Series. The new bike is available at Rs. 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom). In Delhi, you might have to pay over Rs. 1.50 lakh for its total on-road price.
