Airtel, TCS lead losses among top 10 firms

Business

This past week, seven out of India's 10 most valuable companies saw their combined value drop by nearly ₹89,000 crore.
The overall market wasn't spared either—Sensex slipped 722 points and Nifty fell 230 points.
Bharti Airtel and TCS took the hardest hits.

SBI, Bajaj Finance bucked the trend

Airtel lost ₹30,506 crore in value, while TCS dropped ₹23,680 crore. Other big names like HUL, Reliance, HDFC Bank, Infosys, and ICICI Bank also saw declines.
But not everyone had a rough week: SBI added ₹17,492 crore to its value and Bajaj Finance gained nearly ₹15,000 crore.

Financial stocks vs others

IT, telecom, and consumer stocks saw declines in market capitalization this week.
Meanwhile, financial stocks like SBI and Bajaj Finance managed to buck the trend—even when most others were struggling.
