In a bid to expand its presence in India, D2h has introduced a new offer wherein it is providing a free one month subscription of its premium DTH plan with its HD set-top box (STB). The offer comes just days after rivals like Tata Sky, Airtel, and Dish TV reduced the prices of their STBs. Here's more on this offer.
D2h HD STB with Platinum HD pack costs Rs. 1,799
As part of the offer, D2h is offering a one-month subscription of Platinum HD Combo for free along with its HD set-top box which is priced at Rs. 1,799. The company is offering a good benefit here, considering the Platinum HD Combo pack costs Rs. 725 for a month. Under this premium pack, you get 35 HD channels alongside hundreds of SD channels.
What are the benefits of the D2h HD STB?
D2h's HD RF set-top box brings HD picture to your compatible TV while also offering unlimited recording. You can either record a Live TV program or record a scheduled program based on time or title by manually setting the recording. Further, you can pause live TV, rewind/forward recorded clips at upto 32x, and view 12 channels on the screen simultaneously using Mosaic feature.
Rival DTH service providers have reduced prices of their STBs
Meanwhile, Tata Sky has slashed the prices of its STBs twice in the last two months. It is now available at Rs. 1,499 whereas the SD model is listed at Rs. 1,399. Further, Airtel Digital TV has also reduced the price of its STBs by Rs. 200 while Dish TV has slashed the price of its HD STB from Rs. 1,649 to Rs. 1,590.

Like D2h, Dish TV is also providing its NXT HD set-top box along with a Super Family HD pack that includes 17 HD channels and 210 SD channels. The price of this combo offer is Rs. 1,590.
