    Amid lockdown, leading DTH operators offer subscribers free service channels

    Amid lockdown, leading DTH operators offer subscribers free service channels

    Leading DTH operators in India have started offering some free service channels in India, the offer is valid at least till April 14. The move is aimed at encouraging home-bound customers to try activities like cooking, dancing, and exercising during the ongoing nation-wide lockdown. Tata Sky has offered 10 free channels whereas Airtel Digital TV and Dish TV are providing four free channels each.

    Here's a look at the channels offered by Tata Sky

    Tata Sky is offering its subscribers as many as 10 additional service channels for free. These channels cover topics such as cooking, dancing, fitness, beauty, and education. The available channels are Dance Studio (123), Fun Learn (664, 668), Cooking (127), Fitness (110), Smart Manager (701), Vedic Maths (702), Classroom (653), English speaking (660 for Hindi viewers), Beauty (119), and Poetry by Javed Akhtar (150).

    Tata Sky is also offering account credit to customers

    Tata Sky has also introduced an interest-free credit facility that subscribers can use to top-up their accounts. The credited amount will be debited from the user's account when they re-activate the service. To avail the benefit, users need to give a missed call on 080-61999922.

    Airtel is offering CuriosityStream and three other channels for free

    Airtel is offering free access to CuriosityStream (419) channel that offers thousands of films and series covering topics such as space, geography, art, travel, cars, and architecture. Additionally, the company is also offering Airtel Senior TV (323) for elderly people, Let's Dance (113) that provides lessons in various dance forms, and Aapki Rasoi (407) that brings cookery classes featuring celebrity Indian chefs.

    Dish TV is also providing four free service channels

    Dish TV is offering four free channels to its customers including Ayushmaan Active (130) for senior citizens and Fitness Active (132) for those who are interesting in fitness. The company is also offering Kids Active Toons (956) and Kids Active Rhymes (957) channels for children.
