Exclusive: BYJU'S ex-CEO launches AI platform for school students
Mrinal Mohit, who previously led BYJU'S in India, just launched Uprio—an AI-driven platform for CBSE students in grades 5-9.
Uprio already works with dozens of schools in Bengaluru and Delhi and aims to reach 100 schools across both cities soon.
How it works
Uprio runs live online classes in small groups (up to six students), matching each school's own books and timetable.
Its AI tailors lessons for every student and pinpoints where they're struggling, so revision is focused right before exams.
Other features
Uprio offers distraction-free classrooms, private "huddle rooms" for one-on-one tutor help, and lets students ask questions anonymously.
There's also instant feedback on assignments through AI note scanning and dashboards so parents can track progress—all designed to keep learning personal but stress-free.
What's next?
Unlike other edtech platforms that focus on general homework help or upskilling, Uprio's tech is built specifically for K-12 schoolwork.
Early renewals look strong—even though pricing isn't public yet—hinting that students (and their families) are liking what they see.
