Flipkart Plus v/s Amazon Prime: Which one is better?

Flipkart has recently announced its loyalty program that comes with a host of added benefits and freebies. Dubbed as 'Flipkart Plus', this program is similar to Amazon Prime membership- users can get unlimited free priority deliveries and early access to all the sales. However, both these programs come with some exclusive benefits as well. So, which one is worth your money? Here, we decode.

Flipkart Plus v/s Amazon Prime: Features wise

Flipkart Plus offers rewards in the form of coins (Rs. 250 = 1 coin) when you shop on Flipkart and these coins can be redeemed as third-party vouchers at Hotstar, Zomato, and MakeMyTrip among others. With Amazon Prime, you get free access to Prime Video, Prime Music and Prime Reading. Notably, both the programs offer unlimited free priority deliveries and early access to sales.

Flipkart Plus v/s Amazon Prime: The pocket pinch

Amazon Prime membership costs Rs. 999 for the annual subscription, and Rs. 129 for the monthly plan. Meanwhile, Flipkart Plus is a loyalty program wherein the more you shop, the more coins you accrue. To become a Plus member, you need 50 coins. And, you can get a maximum of 10 coins/order. Therefore, you will need to make separate purchases worth Rs. 12,500. But, if you are an old Flipkart user, you might have already accrued some points.

So, which one is more beneficial?

So, looking at the cost-value factor, for a fixed amount of Rs. 999 a year, with Amazon Prime you can enjoy free priority shipping, early entry to sales, access to Prime Video content, Prime Music and Prime Reading. However, to first become a Flipkart Plus member you have to spend a hefty amount of Rs. 12,500. Amazon's offering wins the day.
