GTA VI layoffs were 'not union-related,' says Rockstar
Business
Rockstar Games is in hot water after the Independent Workers of Great Britain (IWGB) filed formal legal claims, claiming 31 GTA VI developers were fired for trying to unionize.
Rockstar says the layoffs were actually about leaked info, not union activity.
The IWGB is seeking financial compensation and legal relief for the affected staff, arguing labor laws were broken.
Former staff and union members have been protesting
The firings happened just as Rockstar pushed back GTA VI's release from May to November 2026, saying they needed more time to polish the game.
Since then, former staff and union members have been protesting outside Rockstar's London office.
So far, neither Rockstar nor its parent company Take-Two Interactive has responded to calls for a conversation with the union.
