'Haiwaan': Akshay-Saif shoot high-octane chase sequence with 40 cars

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan recently shot a high-octane chase sequence for their upcoming film, Haiwaan, near the Churchgate railway station in South Mumbai, per Mid-Day. The shoot reportedly involved 30-40 cars and 100 junior artists, creating a mini-action zone on the streets of Mumbai. The filming took place over five nights under the direction of action director Stunt Silva.

Priyadarshan on Kumar, Khan's cooperation
Priyadarshan, the director of Haiwaan, shared his experience of working with Kumar and Khan. He said, "Both Saif and Akshay knew how the sequence had to be shot, and they cooperated." He added that despite Kumar's reputation for sleeping early, he managed to shoot for five nights in a row! The film also features Shriya Pilgaonkar.

After wrapping up his portions for Haiwaan, Kumar has left for Dubai to shoot Welcome to the Jungle. Meanwhile, Pilgaonkar also shared her experience of working on the film. She posted a picture with Priyadarshan on Instagram and wrote, "An absolute privilege to work with this stellar team led by Priyadarshan sir."

Kumar last shot on the Mumbai streets for Holiday-A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014). Its producer Vipul Shah had revealed to Bollywood Hungama how they managed to shoot without causing chaos. He said, "We had approximately 16 hidden cameras." "We had marked the whole path and we knew that we'd be able to film just one shot at a time..." "This is because the moment people would spot Akshay on a Bandra signal, it was going to become chaos."
