Hexaware sued for $500 million over patent infringement

Hexaware Technologies, an IT services firm, is being sued for $500 million in Illinois by Natsoft Corporation and Updraft. They claim Hexaware used their patented tech without permission.
Hexaware believes the complaint is without any merit and doesn't expect this to seriously impact its finances.

Both Natsoft and Updraft are led by Indian-origin founders, bringing attention to the legal risks tech companies face as they go global.
Even with this lawsuit making headlines, Hexaware's profits jumped 38% for April-June 2024, though revenue growth was more modest at 11%.
After some share price drama, things settled back to ₹676.10 on the BSE.
