Hinge CEO Justin McLeod steps down to launch AI dating app
Justin McLeod, who started Hinge as the "dating app designed to be deleted," is stepping down as CEO. He's off to build Overtone, a new AI-powered dating app.
Taking his place is Jackie Jantos, who joined Hinge as Chief Marketing Officer in 2021 and later became President, is now moving up to CEO.
Why does this matter?
Hinge is aiming for $1 billion in revenue by 2027 and wants to help people find real connections—not just matches for swiping.
Jantos brings a mix of tech know-how and empathy that should keep Hinge growing strong.
McLeod isn't disappearing completely—he'll stick around as an advisor until March 2026 to help with the handover.
Who are the key players?
McLeod launched Hinge with a focus on serious relationships and has now teamed up with Match Group again for Overtone, which will use AI and voice tech to shake up online dating.
Jantos joined Hinge in 2021 and has already played a big part in shaping its strategy—McLeod says he's confident she'll carry Hinge forward with the same compassion and courage that have guided us from the beginning.
