Indian government launches campaign to help you find forgotten money
The Indian government just kicked off "Apki Poonji, Apka Adhikar," a three-month campaign to help people reclaim a massive ₹1.84 lakh crore in forgotten money—think old bank deposits, insurance claims, shares, and more.
Launched by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman from Gandhinagar on October 4, 2025, the drive runs until December and is backed by top financial regulators like RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, and the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA).
Need help? You'll get it
You'll get hands-on help: live demos, digital tools to search for your missing funds, and direct support at special exhibitions with banks and insurance companies ready to assist.
Why is this money forgotten?
Turns out, a lot of this money is stuck because people just aren't aware or records are outdated.
The campaign aims to make it way easier for everyone to find what's theirs with clear info and simple steps.
