Business

India's entertainment and media scene is set for major growth, jumping from $32.2 billion in 2024 to $47.2 billion by 2029, according to a new PwC report.
With a young, digital-savvy crowd and better internet everywhere, the industry's growing at nearly twice the global pace.

Digital ads, streaming, and gaming are leading the charge

Internet ads are expected to almost double—think $6.25B to over $13B—as more people spend time on their phones and regional content gets big.
OTT streaming is also rising fast thanks to local shows and direct-to-viewer models.
Mobile gaming and esports are catching up too, with revenues heading toward $4B by 2029.

Old-school media isn't out—plus AI & creators shake things up

TV and print aren't fading; TV revenue could hit $18B while print edges up as more folks read in their own languages.
Sports is getting bigger too!
Meanwhile, AI tools and a massive creator economy (over 4 million strong) are changing how content gets made—and how everyone from influencers to studios can earn from it.
